Directorate of E&M Engineering was found in 2006 by dissolving the Directorate of
Technical Services into two distinct Directorates i.e. the Directorate of E&M Engineering
and the Directorate of CNS Engineering as a result of restructuring of PCAA. Since
then, the Directorate of E&M Engineering has passed through evolution process and
is striving to become centre of excellence of the organization.
The Directorate is mainly responsible for Repair Operation Maintenance (ROM), Development
and Procurement of E&M systems and equipment for safe, secure and efficient air
transport operation through optimum utilization of available resources at PCAA owned
and / or controlled airports / locations. The role and task of the Directorate are
aimed at ensuring satisfactory and sustained functioning of all equipment, systems
and facilities falling under its purview at all PCAA airports / locations.
The Directorate has proved its worth by maintaining the relevant systems, equipments
and facilities up to the high level of reliability and efficiency including electrical
power supply systems which serve as backbone for all operations of the organization.
In fact, 99% availability of Electrical Power to the operational facilities and
98 % serviceability of E&M equipments and systems have been ensured during the preceding
years.
