on 27 December, 1965. He began his career by joining
PAF Academy Asghar Khan on 9th Nov 1985. After
completing his initial training, he got commissioned in the
GD (P) Branch of PAF on 29th April, 1987.
A hardcore fighter pilot by profession, logging thousands of flying
hours by flying a variety of fighter aircrafts which include F-16, MIR-V,
F-7P, FT-7, FT-5, F-6 and FT-6. He has the honor of serving in the
prestigious Combat Commander’s School (CCS) as an Officer
Commanding, Squadron Commander, Flight Commander and Instructor
pilot spanning over 6 years. During his tenure in service he has held
various command and staff appointments which include Deputy Director
(Plans), Director (Plans), Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans), Base
Commander of an operational base, Director General C4I and Deputy
Chief of the Air Staff (Personnel). Presently, he is serving at
Air Headquarters, Islamabad as Vice Chief of the Air Staff.
Air Marshal Muhammad Zahid Mahmood has attended various
professional courses including Flying Instructors’ Course and Combat
Commanders’ Course. He holds Masters in Strategic Studies from
Air War College Karachi and has also attended Air Command & Staff
College Course (ACSC), USA and National Security & War Course,
Islamabad.
Due to his meritorious services rendered towards Pakistan
Air Force, he has been awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) by the
Government of Pakistan. His decorations also include numerous Chief
of the Air Staff Commendation Certificates, Special Commendation
Certificates and Professional Excellence Badge. |  | Syed Zafar Ali ShahSecretary Planning Development & Special Initiatives Division / Member CAA BoardSyed Zafar Ali Shah, Secretary (MoPD&SI) is an officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service from 20th CTP. He topped the Civil Services of Pakistan Examination in 1992. He has more than 30 years of experience of working in a broad range of organizations. Over 12 years’ experience of heading as team leader various government organizations at senior management and middle management level with knowledge of policy formulation, strategic management and implementation, budget formulation, financial management, taxation measures, revenue mobilization, ease of doing business and planning & development.
He has worked as Commercial Counsellor and Investment Counsellor in the Embassy of Pakistan, Thailand and Alternate Representative of Pakistan to United Nation Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP). He has served in key positions in Government of KP including as Secretary Higher Education, Excise and Taxation, Cabinet, Planning and Development and Population Welfare Department and as Senior Member Board of Revenue. His last assignment was as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan.
Syed Zafar Ali Shah earned MBA from Business Management School, University of Bath, UK. During his career he has served all over the country in Pakistan Customs including Director General Customs Valuation, Director General (Reforms & Automation), Chief Customs (Tariff & Trade), Collector Port Qasim, Collector Customs Preventive Lahore and Director Customs Intelligence. He has also actively contributed to Customs Administrative Reforms and Automation. He has extensive operational and management experience in the areas of trade facilitation, enforcement and compliance management in Customs and Indirect Taxes.
During 2020-22, he served in the Board of Investment and spearheaded multiple initiatives relating to Business Climate Improvement including “Ease of Doing Business” and “Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiative”. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad and MBA from Australian National University, Canberra, along with extensive international exposure gained through training, study visits, workshops & conferences. |  | Flt Lt (Retd) Khaqan MurtazaDirector General CAA / Member CAA BoardFlt Lt (R) Khaqan Murtaza was commissioned as an Air Defence Weapon Controller in the PAF. In 1995, he left PAF and joined civil services and was selected in the erstwhile District Management Group, now Pakistan Administrative Services in 23rd Common Training Program. He has extensive experience in Administration, Procurement and Project Management. He has served on important administrative positions in Federal Government, Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan. He has served as CEO SIDCL, MD PEPCO, Chairman EOBI, Director SPPRA and MD Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan. He has the distinction of serving as Principal Secretary to Governor Sindh from September, 2018 to November, 2020. The Federal Government has appointed him as Director General, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority w.e.f. 30th November, 2020. |  | Mr. Junaid Talaat Waheed KhanSecretary CAA BoardMr Junaid Talaat Waheed Khan is a corporate governance professional with an extensive experience in corporate affairs, board secretariat management, shares management and redeemable capital instrument (RCI) registrar services. He is a qualified Company Secretary and holds two Certified Director credentials, first from RMG USA and PICG being youngest one at the time of certification; and second from IBA Karachi and CMI UK. Mr Khan is a business graduate with specialization in finance. Before joining CAA, he was General Manager Corporate Affairs at K-Electric Limited (KE) which is the only vertically integrated and largest power utility company of Pakistan. At KE he has also remained Company Secretary of KE Venture Company (Pvt) Limited and K-Solar (Pvt) Limited in addition to Secretary of Board’s Regulatory Affairs as well as Strategy & Projects Committees. He has served for around 12 years in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) where his last appointment was Assistant Company Secretary. At PIA he has played an instrumental role in its conversion from statutory corporation into a public limited company, issuance of various RCIs, establishment of flying academy and development of spin-off strategy. He was also Company Secretary of Skyrooms (Pvt) Limited and PIA First Sukuk Company Limited. Mr Khan has previously served Govt of Balochistan in its Finance Dept, NADRA in its operations and a corporate law firm. He has attended various international/domestic trainings and conferences on corporate governance. His services have been appreciated by Boards and organizational heads. |
